Honestly, the way they marketed Kylo Ren before ep 7 came out is fucking brilliant. In every trailer and promotional thing, he was always presented in a way that made him just as terrifying, if not moreso than Vader.

But not once did they show him without his mask.

And then the movie came out, and we all saw him for the big whiny pissbaby he really is, and how he’s just. Not really that scary when he isn’t emulating Vader as much as he can (that is, wearing the mask).
