Hype aside, the Switch looks really cool. They said that it’s the culmination of every Nintendo console to date, but to me it feels more like they took the best parts of the Wii and the Wii U, smashed them together and then made them even better.
$300 is a good price, the same as the Wii U when it launched, though it seems most of that comes from the tech that’s in the Joycon controllers (which are extremely cool all on their own). I’m glad that they have so many accessories packed in the box along with the console and aren’t forcing people to buy extra stuff.
The game lineup is looking really good, with some great 1st and 3rd party on the way this year.
Honestly though, it’s not screaming day one purchase for me. It’s all extremely cool and I can’t wait to see what they do with it, but aside from Zelda (which I can get on the Wii U) there’s nothing coming out in the first month or so that I must have. I’m definitely gonna get one, but not until after E3 probably.
All in all, I’m very excited for the Switch and it’s definitely poised to make some huge waves in the gaming industry
