I’m watching a playthrough of Bioshock for the first time… I thought it was a straight-up horror game when it first came out, so I stayed away from it for ages. I was missing out.

So far, Atlas is my favorite character. He seems a little morally skewed, but he’s at least being helpful.

me: remembers how satuski screamed at ryuko when she was falling from the sky in such a way that you could hear the pure terror in her voice at the thought of losing her sister, who she had been trying to avenge all her life and while trying to get ryuko to wake up she literally sprinted as fast as she possibly could to catch her and ensure she would be safe.

Hoo boy, if you like Our War Game (the Digimon Movie segment with Tai and Izzy) you will LOVE Summer Wars. It’s the same director, Mamoru Hosoda, and it’s the same basic plot (AI causes chaos on the internet and people deal with it) but there’s a lot more to it, including a lot of family stuff, a really cute romance subplot, and some STELLAR animation from studio Madhouse. It’s honestly one of my favorite movies ever and I can’t recommend it highly enough.

LOL andrew!!!! you recced me this movie like two years ago and it’s been at the top of my movies-to-watch….i’m just awful at actually going through anything on that list o|-< although i did watch wolf children a little while back and loved it!! beautiful animation and nice storytelling, so i’m sure summer wars is the same 😀

That…doesn’t actually surprise me too much. It’s a movie I’ve watched like half a dozen times because of how much I love it. It has a little bit of everything and it’s just a really lovely movie.
