[a lil black clover spoiler alert!]

great thing in black clover is, yes, asta set the pace of battle with his determination but he isn’t the last one standing, spilling his weight worth of blood.

  • in his first mission, it’s magna’s idea
  • in the dungeon, it’s luck’s idea and a lil boost from noelle
  • inside the treasure room, it’s yuno who slammed down the last blow
  • in tht under water city, it’s finral and the witch’s support
  • in the cave, it’s yami and the other knight orders’ captains
  • [ edited ] and oh god, how could we forgot fuegoreon vermillion, one who snaps noelle from her hesitation amidst battle, one who don’t deserve what’s done to him coughs i mean the one who comes btwn asta’s fight and apologized for stepping in but he don’t want asta to die there. finally an adult who doesn’t encourage kids to jump into suicide fights??¿??

asta fights but he isn’t alone. he didn’t the save the world on his own. there’s people guiding, helping, teaching him during the fights and it actually shows through in the stories. asta is 15 and he’s treated like one, a person who needed guidance and help and not thrown smack dab in the middle of a fight between the strongest villain ever. he isn’t the only one who gets the credit at the end of the story with a new awakened power. everyone gets to be stronger in every fight. he inspire others, like most shounen main character does, but he’s also actually stronger and inspired because of them.

he has his teammates’ strength with him and it shone through in the story. black clover use the most common trope in shounen but this time it’s a trope done right.
