You sound like you’ve written a guide book for Breath of the Wild.

Do I? Huh, interesting. Nah, I haven’t, it’s mostly just a combination of me running around and seeing what kind of nonsense I can get into and vague mentions of these things from other people I see playing it.

A good example of it is the surprise on Mt. Lanayru. I tried going there early on in the game, but I didn’t have a lot of cold resistance supplies at the time, so I put it off and eventually forgot about it. Until I listened to a podcast of people talking about it so I went back man was it cool (it really is something you need to do if you haven’t done it yet)

The Master Sword in BotW: I will fucking murder Link if he isn’t strong enough to wield me

I think my favorite thing about BotW is the black market for men’s clothes in the Gerudo city. Because think about it:

  • Men’s clothing is illegal in the city.
  • The clothes are designed in a way such that even if they were legal, they show way too much skin for the Gerudo to wear.
  • (just assuming where they set their boundaries based on what they wear in game)
  • There’s no way any of the Gerudo women could wear the clothes casually.
  • Men are also illegal in the city.
  • Counting Link, there are two men who sneak in, but the store owner can see through the disguises and Link is the first Hylian man she’s seen disguised in girls’ Gerudo clothing.
  • There’s also that one Goron who got in because no one knew enough about Goron anatomy to realize he was male, but that guy isn’t about to wear Gerudo clothing.
  • Aside from Link, Only women can access the black market for men’s wear.
  • And they have to hide that they own such clothing.
  • So there’s a store that requires you know a secret password which caters to women looking to buy men’s clothes that they then have to conceal their ownership of.
  • These are in hot demand.
  • I have two possible conclusions:
  • All of those dorks looking for husbands are buying forbidden Gerudo clothing that they want to see their prospective mates in.
  • Or a lot of women in the city get off on dressing up as men
  • (Possibly so they can practice talking to men with one another, because all of the Gerudo in this game are dorks like that.)
  • Either way men’s clothes seem to be a sexualized item to the Gerudo.
  • Like how panties are regarded in anime.
  • Except it’s just regular pants. For men.
