hello here’s some messy zero two sketches for an au im plotting where zt is an angel that fell to earth after a wing injury and is taken in by hiro, over time the two fall in love leading to zero two wanting to give up her wings to stay with hiro as a mortal

i didn’t realize until after i plotted this it has a loose feeling of the little mermaid to it LOL

I get the feeling that Zero Two knew what was going to happen to her, or at least had a feeling, because she’s definitely speaking like she knows she’ll be going away.

Also, her horns grew out in the same way they did when she had become integrated with Strelizia in episode 15, so I’m almost positive that her soul has become a part of Strelizia in a way similar to the female klaxo sapiens did with the klaxosaur bio-weapons.

Man anime romances sure has change since I was a teen. I mean I’m so use to the “bickering” troupe of the 2000 or just the annoying mess of harem animes but something like DIF where the two characters actually have no qualms or character regression about their relationship really impresses me for some reason.

DarliFra is kind of unique even among modern anime tbh. More often than not, when a couple gets together, it’s not really obvious, but with Hiro and Zero Two their relationship changes the entire dynamic of the show. It inspires the other characters to think about their place in the world they live in and what they want out of life.

Hiro and Zero Two’s relationship is bizarre and one of a kind and by all rights probably wouldn’t work out in a real world setting, but it feels so real and their love for each other is powerful and genuine, you want nothing more for them to be together and happy.
