The thing about the Dinokids is that once they’ve reached adulthood, they’ve become incredibly attractive (which, considering their parents, is not a huge surprise). And without fail, every single one of them causes their friends to have an “OH NO, THEY’RE HOT” moment that no one is ever prepared for.

The other thing is that none of them know how to deal with it, and Hiro and Zero Two think it’s hilarious every time.

Dinobabies Info Dump

Well, here it is. Everything you could want to know about the HiroTwo clan. Get ready, this is gonna be a long one. Once again, big thanks to @tachipaws for helping me come up with names and being a great sounding board

Also, these are all pretty rough outlines for the kinds of people they are, so if you have any questions or suggestions, feel free to ask

General Things

  • The children are intensely protective of each other. You mess with one of them, you have to deal with all of them. God help you if they get their parents involved
  • Not all of them are troublemakers, but they all share their mother’s talent for causing chaos if they so choose, as well as their father’s sheer creativity when it comes to problem solving
  • It’s incredibly hard to miss them when any of them are around. Mostly because you’ll start to notice some red and blue twinkles in the corner of your eye
  • Hiro and Zero Two affectionately refer to them as The Flock (because dinosaurs and birds), and because of Zorome, it’s a name that pretty quickly gets spread around to others

FYI all of their ages are based on how old they would be as of the 10 year skip

Hitotsume (Age 12)

  • As talked about here, Hitotsume is the Klaxosaur Princess reborn
  • When she’s younger, she’s very shy and quiet and generally clings to Hiro or Zero Two when around other people, especially people she doesn’t know
  • As she gets older, her shyness becomes a quiet, unshakable strength to help and protect everyone she cares about
  • In addition to her own siblings, she also becomes the unofficial older sister to all of the children from Squad 13

Jian (f) and Xian (f) (Age 6)

  • The first born children to Hiro and Zero Two, born about a year after they return.
  • They are completely identical (pale pink hair like when Zero Two was a child with Hiro’s eyes and facial structure) except for their horns; Jian has red horns and Xian has blue horns
  • They are without a doubt the biggest troublemakers in the family. If there’s some kind of mischief, you can rest assured that they’re involved

Hayato (m) and Sora (m) (Age 5)

  • Hayato and Sora are much calmer than their older sisters, but are also the smartest in the entire family
  • They are fraternal twins. Hayato has black hair with red horns while Sora has pink hair with blue horns, and are otherwise just blends of their parents
  • They’re more scientifically inclined, so they spend a lot of time with Ikuno and Naomi, and eventually become Ikuno’s assistants

Umi (f), Kaito (m), and Aoi (m) (Age 3)

  • The three of them take after Hiro a lot, but with Zero Two accenting it with their hair being lighter than Hiro’s black, being almost blue
    • All three of them have blue horns
  • Their names are water themed because of their blue horns and how Zero Two always compared piloting with Hiro to being submerged in an ocean
  • Since they were born at around the same time, the triplets spent nearly all of their time with Mitsuru and Kokoro’s youngest, to the point that they thought she was their weird hornless sister
    • Doesn’t stop them from treating her like a sister anyway
  • They frequently get wrapped up in Jian and Xian’s schemes, and are more than happy to since they’re the fun older siblings

Tsubasa (f) (Age 1)

  • The youngest in the family, Tsubasa looks almost exactly like her father with her black hair and blue eyes and horns
  • All of her siblings dote on her, but Hitotsume is her favorite sister and most frequent babysitter
  • Like Hitotsume was, she’s a shy child and can get nervous around new people, but around the people she knows, she can be very bubbly and happy

As mentioned here, all of the kids eventually are given a piece of jewelry that has a piece of Hiro and Zero Two’s horns, as well as a piece of their own horns

as the main setting

(all of them handcrafted by Mitsuru). The jewelry is made to represent the fact that no matter how far or long they’re separated, they will always be a part of each other’s lives and they will always find each other again

  • Hitotsume – Circlet made of a black metal with the horn pieces set on the sides of her horn
  • Jian and Xian – Hair clips shaped like wings
  • Hayato and Sora –

    A pair of matching earrings

  • Umi, Kaito and Aoi – Cuff bracelets with the horn pieces carved into a droplet
  • Tsubasa – Pendant shaped like a bird

So I’m hard at work on the big dinokid post, but I figured I’d give a peek and tell you the names I’ve come up. I’ve got names for all of them except for the triplets

The oldest is Hitotsume AKA the Klaxosaur Princess reborn

The first set of twins are girls named Jian and Xian

The second set of twins are boys named Hayato and Sora

And then the youngest is a girl named Tsubasa

A lot of people like to think Hiro would be the “chill, responsible” parent but we’re all forgetting homeboy was a mini-Kamina at, like, 8. He’d teach his kids to make grapple hooks with grass strands and egg shells just in case of necessity, I’m sure. Combined with the sweet tooth they probably got from Zero Two, Futoshi’s bakery isn’t a safe place for tarts anymore

I wouldn’t exactly say Hiro is teaching them crazy stuff like that (because honestly, they’d figure it out on their own), but I definitely do see him as being the “fun” parent. Zero Two surprisingly takes to the role of being the rule-setter…which isn’t to say she doesn’t have moments of being the “fun” one. For one thing, she is absolutely the favorite aunt among the rest of the Squad 13 kids. They all agree she’s the most fun.

But with her own children, they all know she’s the boss and when it is and isn’t okay to goof around. If they’re scattered about, she’ll whistle once for dinner, and all of them will be back in the house in minutes. And on the flipside, she’s always the first one any of them go to if they’re upset and need comfort.

Also, yes, no pastry is safe if any of the HiroTwo kids around. They will get it, and you cannot stop them.

So it’s not uncommon in the HiroTwo household for cuddle piles to happen. More often than not, they’re started by one of the kids finding Hiro napping somewhere and then deciding “this is an excellent place to nap”. As time passes, the rest of the kids (and Zero Two eventually) show up and come to the same conclusion.

Basically, Hiro is a giant bed for his family and has resigned himself to not being able to move for awhile if he takes a nap anywhere near them.

headcannon: whenever Zero Two is just sitting on the couch, Hiro just comes by and puts his head on hers like he’s a cat, and he does this for no other reason than to get a smile out of her… and he like to act tol.

Zero Two is already a very physically affectionate person, so I don’t think it’s a stretch to say that Klaxo Hiro would be the same. They’re just…very touchy-feely people, which can get a little exhausting for their friends, and then it’s a trait that gets passed down to their children.

Dinofam Horn Headcanons

I couldn’t really fit this in either of my other headcanon posts, but have some HiroTwo horn headcanons (thanks to @tachipaws for inspiring and coming up with some of these)

  • When Zero Two is pregnant, her horns grow slower because her body is re-routing nutrients to the baby
  • By the time she has the triplets, she and Hiro are able to use it as a symptom when she doesn’t have to file her horns for awhile
    • When they practically stop growing all together and she’s able to figure out that she’s having triplets
  • On the flip side, Hiro’s horns start growing longer and faster as a part of a innate protective instinct. No matter what he does, he can’t file them down to a reasonable length since they grow back almost immediately
  • Between his height and the length of his horns, he ends up bumping them on door frames…a lot.
    • One time, Zero Two called for him very frantically, and in his rush to get to her, he slammed into the door frame and fell flat on his back
    • (she was fine, she had just bet Ichigo that she could get him to fall over)
  • Horn touching is a really big thing in the family. It’s very similar to the way a family would hug or kiss each other, but in some ways it’s more intimate than that
  • Like in ep 22, touching horns can transfer memories and sensations between them, so touching them let’s the family convey emotions that are too difficult to explain with words
  • Just…this one
  • Hiro and Zero Two have a piece of each other’s horns in their wedding bands, which is a tradition they pass down to their children
  • In addition, when the children reach a certain age, their parents give them a unique piece of jewelry with a piece of their horns set as the centerpiece
