This is a pretty crazy headcanon even for me, and it’s kind of an AU of my AU, so get ready.
So, back in episode 21 and 22, the possibility was discussed that the Klaxosaur Princess’ soul was inside of Apus along with Zero Two. Anyway, my hc here is that when Hiro and Zero Two come home, inside of Strelizia’s cockpit, they find a little girl (like 5 or something) with silver hair and a single blue horn in the middle of her forehead
This little girl has no memory of who she is, and they realize that the Klaxosaur Princess has been reborn. Naming her Hitotsume, Hiro and Zero Two decide to raise her so that she can live a life without constant fighting.
Hitotsume never fully regains her memory, but she knows that she can trust Hiro and Zero Two with anything. She grows up to be a quiet, but very happy little girl. By the time of the 10 year timeskip, she’s become the unofficial big sister of all the Squad 13 children and is ready to help them with anything.
Zero Two being sprawled out while sleeping is an adorable image, and her sleeping while clinging to Hiro is even moreso. They start sleeping in the same bed after the battle at the Gran Crevasse, and for awhile, she practically sleeps on top of him because there’s a part of her that’s terrified he’s going to disappear. Even years later, there’s some nights where Hiro wakes up in the middle of the night with her holding his shirt in a death grip and her head tucked as far into his shoulder as possible.
These are all excellent things and I love them all. Anything that involves Zero Two interacting with the rest of the Squad is a good thing.
Though I’d like to add that as they get older, their horns grow at a rate that it’s difficult to keep them at a reasonable length, so they just let them grow out.
Same tho. Before they meet, they both feel that…something is missing but they don’t know what it is. But when they do meet, they just know that the other person is what they were missing. They can’t explain it and they don’t fully understand it either, but they know everything is going to be alright from then on because that empty part of themselves is filled now.

I mean, have you seen Zero Two? She will cuddle with her Darling and nothing can stop her

Zero Two is always the little spoon because she always feels safe in Hiro’s arms

Not so much an argument, but Zero Two in general can be very reluctant to talk about how she’s feeling
4. Favorite non-sexual activity?
Writing and drawing picture books is a big one for them
5. Who is most likely to carry the other?
Hiro is more likely to carry her because she frequently wears herself out and then he ends up carrying her to bed
6. What is their favorite feature of their partner’s?
Zero Two loves Hiro’s eyes. They carry so much emotion and no matter what, she always can look in them to see the love he has for her.
For Hiro, he loves her horns. They were the first thing he noticed about her and it’s one of the most important things he shares with her because it means they are the same now.
7. What’s the first thing that changes when they realize they have feelings for the other?
If we look at canon, not much really. They’ve pretty much been in love with each other since they first met.

I mean, it’s…it’s kind of the name of the show and there’s an entire episode dedicated to it.

Hiro tends to fret when he notices that there’s something on Zero Two’s mind that she isn’t talking about. Otherwise, nothing really worries them as long as they’re together.
10. Who remembers what the other one always orders at a restaurant?
Zero Two doesn’t really have a consistent order, but Hiro always knows what she’s in the mood for, so he’s good at predicting what she wants.
11. Who tops?
You look at me and try to tell me that Zero Two isn’t the biggest top in all of anime.
In all seriousness though, pre-saurification, Zero Two absolutely tops, but post-saurification? It’s something of a competition and both of them are in it to win
12. Who initiates kisses?
It’s a pretty even thing really. Both of them are very open with their affection for each other.
13. Who reaches for the other’s hand first?
Again, it’s pretty even. It’s pretty instinctual for them to hold onto each other in some way.
14. Who kisses the hardest?
Zero Two is very…aggressive with her affection and Hiro doesn’t mind at all.
15. Who wakes up first?
Hiro’s always been an early riser, and it comes in handy because he loves watching Zero Two sleep since it’s one of the few times she’s entirely at ease

Zero Two relishes her sleep and not even her Darling is exempt from revenge for waking her up too early

Canonically, Hiro is the first one to say it, even if it doesn’t exactly go well…

Of the two, Hiro’s the one who cooks more, so it would be him. Most of them are little notes of how much he loves her.
19. Who tells their family/friends about their relationship first?
Not really either of them. They announce it in a pretty grand way by blowing up a giant Klaxosaur.
20. What do their family/friends think of their relationship?
After the initial drama of episodes 12 and 14, Squad 13 is incredibly supportive of their relationship and wants nothing but the best for them.
21. Who is more likely to start dancing with the other?

Hiro cooks more and is generally better at cooking, but Zero Two is a master of desserts and no one can beat her when it comes to sweets.
23. Who comes up with cheesy pick up lines?
Hiro found a book of pickup lines hidden deep in a library and Zero Two absolutely loves them. In the long run, Hiro and Zero Two are the ones who reintroduce pickup lines to the world, for better or worse.
24. Who whispers inappropriate things in the other’s ear during inappropriate times?
Both of them are a couple of horny pervs and they’ve been caught multiple times giggling with each other during important meetings, and their friends are just “why are you two like this”
25. Who needs more assurance?
Despite everything, Zero Two still has moments of self-consciousness about her horns, but it’s never too difficult for Hiro to cheer her up. Usually just a horn bump is enough
26. What would be their theme song?
Kiss of Death kind of is their theme, so there’s that

They both do, but Zero Two takes special pleasure in being able to comfort her children. Hiro always loves watching her sing to the children.

I honestly don’t really know how to answer this question because their lives revolve around each other so much

In the time after they were separated as children, Hiro always felt there was some part of him missing that he couldn’t explain and it was tearing him apart. For Zero Two, she knew what she was missing and no matter what she did she couldn’t fill that hole.

Dinofamily Headcanon Post (Part 1)
As promised, here’s a bunch of headcanons about the kind of life that Hiro and Zero Two would have had if they had come home after defeating VIRM
This got much longer than I expected it to, so I’m gonna do a part 2 (maybe more?) focused on the kids themselves, so look forward to that!
They don’t actually get home for another year, but when they do, Strelizia lands right behind where Zero Two’s body was left.
Her soul returns to her body and she has her horns again. When she steps away, the cherry blossom sapling is still there.
Squad 13 is there to greet them and they all immediately notice that Hiro has grown a lot taller in his time away. Like, noticeably taller than Goro even.
Another year passes, and in that time Zero Two is the first among their squad to get pregnant and she gives birth to the first pair of twins in the new society
The others are predictably shocked because “??? YOU CAN HAVE TWO AT ONCE???”
Hiro is less shocked because he knows that Zero Two will always be ready to surprise him
Their twins are a couple of girls, one with red horns and one with blue horns, and they name them Jian and Hitotsume, respectively.
Jian is for pretty obvious reasons, but Hitotsume is named for the Klaxosaur Princess, so that she can in some way live a life without constant fighting and loneliness
Over the next six years (leading up to the original ten year time skip) Hiro and Zero Two have another 5 kids. Another set of twins, a set of triplets, and then another on the way
They have so many because A) Klaxosapien biology makes them a lot more likely to have multiple births, and B) Hiro and Zero Two are VERY affectionate with each other
By this point, they’ve long since rewritten the final page of the original picture book, and since then they’ve gone on to writing more picture books together that children all over the world read
So the HiroTwo family post is taking longer than I thought it would, but I figured I’d give a little sneak peek.
By the time of the 10 year time skip, Hiro and Zero Two have had 7 kids with another one on the way (their Klaxosapien biology makes them a lot more likely to have twins) and their first born child is named in honor of the Klaxosaur Princess
