Q: I didn’t watch the final episode, so this might be a dumb question, but what happened to Serena’s love, did she and Satoshi become a couple in the end?

A: They didn’t become a couple in the episode itself, but the way I ended it is meant to make you understand that they’re probably going to become one later. Serena tells Satoshi that she’s going to improve herself and then come back to him. And then she does something absolutely incredible when she leaves (laughs). She’s meant to be kissing him in that scene, but since I couldn’t just have them kissing on screen, I had Serena’s feet “float” upwards instead.

Yooooooo! Words right from the (XY) director Tetsuo Yajima himself!

Ill never see megaevolution in the same way

… This isn’t as new as people seem to think it is. Mega Lucario has always been relentless and brutal. Mega Glalie has always had a broken jaw. It was only in supplementary materials and stuff, so it was hard to find and relatively unknown, but the dangers of Mega Evolution have always been around.

AND THAT’S THE THING. That’s where the ‘love and trust’ from X and Y comes in.

Because Mega Evolution is psychotically dangerous for a lot of Pokemon. So they need a skilled trainer that they trust to see them safely through it. Because that love and trust lets them stay in control of themselves

Because if they have that, they can rise to ever higher heights. They can get closer to being the best. Because Pokemon are competitive by nature, and most of them want to be the strongest. To be a master, right?

If you Mega Evolve your Pokemon, you’re not being cruel to your Pokemon and forcing them through terrible pain for more power. You and your Pokemon are, together, making the decision to do something dangerous, because you trust each other to make it through safely, because you trust each other to make use of this terrifying power and come out on top.

Mega Evolution is scary as hell, but it’s not evil unless you make it so.

This.

Remember what happened to Korrina’s Lucario after it gained it’s Mega Evolution in the Anime?

And how Korrina had to painstakingly bond with it again, despite being years soulmates with it?

I do.

If You’re good enough friends with your pokemon sometimes they will just refuse to die for you im gunna fu cking cRY.,

this is honestly my favorite part of the new games. Your pokemon will land more critical hits, rid itself of status effects and fight to remain at 1 HP all because it loves you so damn much.

I TEARED UP REALLY HARD WHEN MY DELPHOX DID THIS AND I NEEDED TO TAKE A MOMENT BECAUSE I WAS THAT AFFECTED BY THE LOVE I SHARE BETWEEN ME AND THIS STUPID GAME

OMFG IS THIS REAL oh my god oh my GOD

JUST IMAGINE WHAT THIS IS GOING TO DO TO NUZLOCKE TRAINERS.

My Absol did this when i was down to my last Pokémon against Steven’s Metagross & Giga Impact, giving me that last turn I needed to win the battle. I cried. A lot.
