This is what most of the fandom wonders to be quite honest.

I’m like 20-odd chapters into the new arc, and like, it’s not bad by any means, it just feels really…small compared to the Hueco Mundo and Fake Karakura arcs. It also doesn’t help that I don’t even know what the point of it all is. Well, that’s not entirely true, it’s more just a really long-winded way of giving Ichigo his Shinigami powers back.

You are smart. I should have done what you’re doing and waited to read until right before it is going to end. That would have saved me so much grief and frustration over the years. ha ha ha

It’s been one hell of a trip. tbh I hadn’t even considered reading it until I heard that it was ending, and I’m glad I waited until now.
